You realize its poly-carbonate and its not gonna just dissolve away after a period of time, most people nowadays are only keeping their phone for 2 years now. I have owned phones before as long as 3 years for some and at the end hardly had any scuffs on them, current phone over a year now and no scratches its all about how you care your phone. And with Samsung as a brand now the name they have made for themselves their phones retain their value and are now up with Apple on resale value, plastic or not, its really not a factor when it comes to resale value.
Everyone can argue that the build quality isn’t perfect but at the end of the day, whether you have a HTC one, a iPhone 5 or the S4 you’re gonna end up putting it in a “plastic” case to protect it, so the issue of it feeling cheap is really irrelevant.
