Google doesn’t own thousands of stores in the United States that it operates and sells a large line of products from either. Running brick and mortar stores is a lot more expensive than dealing primarily in online sales and online services.

Having an automated playlist that is good for once has been amazing. And unlike with Spotify and other services songs do not repeat quite as often and there is a much wider variety depending on what you’re listening too.

To some degree, yes. I use an adblocker because a lot of sites have annoying ads. I disable it for a lot of sites (TheVerge, TekSyndicate etc) because I wish to support them. I even do so for most of Youtube.
Microsoft move isn’t even remotely the same and purposely breaks terms laid out for the API.

Requesting removal of the app is standard when it breaks terms of service. Microsoft can then work on fixing the app.

Whether or not Google gets money from those ads means nothing. The fact of the matter is that this harms a large number of indie content creators and is a dirtbag move.
