I like that you added a shortcut to notes. You’d think that’s something Apple would have thought of.

I want to see Google really blow it out of the water when it comes to Android 5.0 design. This will be the year Google trumps Apple in design. Its been happening all year, and now Apple failed to deliver with its rainbow iOS 7. I want to see all the UI be inspired by their card style design and light gray and flat design. Is so pleasing to look at.

I have one and I switch between it and my iPhone 5 (of course wiht iOS 7 I may just go full Android), and I think it is a great phone that is way underrated by the tech media. The only qualms I have with it is the battery can run out pretty quickly, the volume out is kind of low, and it’s harder for me to use it one-handed than my iPhone 5 and it causes me to accidentally hit the software keys on the bottom.

And who is saying it was designed in 6 months? Who knows that for sure? I say they’ve been working on it for awhile and that’s why iOS 6 was so lackluster.

Lol so true. Now that Apple got that big let down out of the way I can safely say Googles design is miles better and I really look forward to seeing Android 5.0 and more card style UIs. iOS 7 actually makes me not want to use iOS products anymore. Basically Apple had one saving grace for iOS and we all thought Ive would wow us but it appears he should just stick with hardware. Now what do they have left? Not my much. Meanwhile, Google has some secret group of like 10 designer gods hidden away working on unifying everything.

I showed it to my parents and they both thought it looked gross.

I have to agree. iOS 7 looks horrible to me. A bad way of doing flat (Google’s take is better and more pleasing to look at). It’s like a mismatch of styles that makes it look like a cheap jailbreak theme or an Android launcher. All those bright colors thrown around are annoying looking (how long do you want to see pink scattered throughout white in the music app) and the whole translucent thing going on reminds me of windows vista.

Google flat design language is 100 times better looking than this mess Apple just announced.

I think it looks like garbage. The app icons make me want to puke. Safari especially. The bright colors make it look cartoony and messy. The translucent backgrounds look awful. If anything, iOS 7 so far has made me want to just keep my N4 and sell my iPhone 5. There were no great new features I was hoping for. We still can’t set defaults. The keyboard still sucks. Google’s new design language is much more pleasing than whatever Apple thinks this is. iTunes Radio is a joke compared to All Access.

I’m not going to get all hyped up and overly excited until I actually see something exciting tomorrow. There is a lot of disappointment that usually follows these events.

WWDC should be interesting but like every Apple event it’s not even going to come close to the level of hype and predications created by the Internet. There will be a few new things they show off and that will be that. Everyone will moan and be disappointed.

The new font they are using on their banners resembles Roboto a lot. If they do go flat Google is sort of already beating them to it. Apple needs to not just put a new paint job on iOS, they need to innovate it. I want to see new API’s, I want to see the ability to set third party apps as defaults, I want to see a new keyboard with swype, I want to see a rework of how notifications work, and I want to see apps being able to communicate with one another. However, I don’t think we will see any of this on Monday. I think what we will see is a slightly new look to iOS, and a redesign of all of Apples stock apps. Maybe a new keyboard…

I have an N4 and iPhone 5 and after a couple months of messing with android and tweaking and customizing I just picked my iPhone back up. There are things I love about android but when I use my iPhone it just feels good. The phone fits my hand perfectly and the ease of one handed use cannot be overstated. I use my phone one handed a lot, and with my N4 it’s just bulky and uncomfortable. Also, it hurts my pinky supporting the bottom after awhile. I can’t reach all points of the screen without shifting either. Sure, I wish iOS was more open and allowed you to select defaults. I also wish it had a better keyboard, but my iPhone is jailbroken so I have some pretty useful tweaks. The apps do look better on iOS.
