Thats a pretty naive statement, there are products at every cost range for windows computers so there is a market. People who arnt interested in cars but need to drive to work dont spend hundreds of thousands on a specialised car.

Im not a huge mac supporter by any means, but its not the laptop ‘to rule them all’ this is the affordable/portable/basic option. The screen on this is roughly the same as many of the competition, if a better screen is the most important need for you, you fit into the MBP retina audience.

While people arnt really avoided mac os x like the plague these days its not wrong to say that more people are after a windows laptop (it still has the numbers) giving his point at least some merit.

My biggest problems with my Mac is the OS. Pretty widely accepted that Macs design/have great hardware but are held back (At least the gist).

Picked that up as well haha. Though technically it does fit the definition intel made. Intel is inside the MBA and it fits all the criteria.

It doesn’t have to be one or the other though, it is possible to have a touchscreen laptop with a good trackpad as well. Why are people arguing about picking one?

I would imagine that eventually all laptops will come with a touchscreen, why not? even if some people use the trackpad more.

Not really, there are many different Haswell chips, they may have decided to put the one with the best battery life in, but they could have put a more powerful chip in (Though it may have been more expensive, or worse for battery).

Its not the taxes necessarily that make them more expensive. Here in Australia the tech companies (Though its with a lot of other fields to) are being questioned in court why they inflate prices for Australians (You know its cheaper to fly to America, buy Adobe CS and back? and its a digital download that isn’t effected by tax..its artificially raised because for whatever reason they’ve decided we can afford to pay that much). Im sure other countries this applies to as well.

Our dollar is also stronger than the US (Or at least it was, not sure atm).

The main page design was/is one of the bigger differencing features of the site, it took a little to get used to but its beautiful & easy to navigate now.

Hes being sarcastic, there are many fanboys who believe the Verge hates apple just because it occasionally points out flaws & gives other products good ratings. Even though most Apple products have the highest / most recommendations on here.

How is unity crap? Its just a ‘dock’ (Like OS X) for quick access and search. Compatibility problems are mostly a thing of the past as well.
