To be fair, that is a quite new computer you are using. There are a lot of computers older than that that are still considered fairly modern.

Agreed. I know it is different from the MacBook Air given the only semi-gloss finish the mac has. In terms of usability, they seem pretty similar, especially the manner in which vertical angles wash out slightly.

It is glossy; I guess I just don’t personally mind glossy screens. I believe this screen is from a different vendor than most of their glossy panels (going to do some research on that!)

Right, exactly. Unfortunately that is usually an important feature for a small laptop. It seems like there would be a way to get more life out of it just looking at the hardware, but we’ll see. Also thanks!

It depends on what the Pentium of some description is :P (also depends on the graphics card)
Try starting minecraft up on it and see how it does.
[Minecraft for xbox is developed as a separate game from the PC version, and so the two are not cross compatible unfortunately]

1. frogger4 (note the lack of a “0” at the end)
2. I have read the Verge since the beginning, and I have played Minecraft since Alpha, so it only seems logical.
3. Creepcraft (survival/pvp), Lostcraft (survival/pvp), my friend’s server (survival), my own server that I hosted and administrated for 9 months or so (creative)
4. I have plans for a jungle city; that might be interesting to start work on. But really, I would just like to contribute to whatever projects are going on. From the creative minecraft I played, I developed realistic looking styles using all sorts of materials.
5. I personally dislike plain cobblestone buildings. Cobblestone is for castles occasionally, and for smelting into stone the rest of the time.

Okay Okay. Read up on your Elder Scrolls history :P Of course there won’t be dragons because there are only a couple known to be alive at this time, and they are in hiding.

And the answer is still, no.
…Actually, if this sort of trend continues (and similar advancement on ARM based gpu’s), and were Crysis made for that sort of platform, in a couple of years, yes.
We are seeing basically 2nd gen console (PS2, xbox) performance out of the current top end mobile devices. It is conceivable that the next generation of mobile devices could approach 3rd gen console graphics (PS3, xbox 360) – and Crysis 2 plays on those consoles.
We are almost there!!

Just by the nature of the architecture, it is going to be more power efficient than most any x86 chip. But, GHz are not everything. 3.1 GHz on Cortex A9 comes nowhere close to 3.1 GHz on an x86 design.
Still really cool to see advancement like this though!

Since USB 3 is built right into Ivy Bridge, rather than being an addition, I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be on the next macs. Even still, I’m not sure that USB 3 is a single big enough reason to switch if you are happy with macs otherwise.

What is the iPhone 5? Everyone seems to have a mental image of exactly what the mythical iPhone 5 is, for the last two years practically. What does it offer that makes it worth waiting for? And, why is it called the iPhone 5, given it will be the 6th generation iPhone? The iPhone 4 would have been the iPhone 3 if you are counting by body styles.
I follow tech news closely like everyone here, and I can reasonably say, we still have no idea what the next iPhone is going to offer. It is going to be better than everything that came before it.
But I see no reason to wait half a year for next iPhone; by that reasoning you will never get a new phone, perpetually concerned that there might be something better coming next. The iPhone 4S is absolutely incredible. You will not be disappointed by it. The only thing you might be disappointed with is spending another half a year with a phone you are not happy with.

It annoys me when people say on facebook that they got “hacked” — when really they just left facebook logged in on their computer or something, and one of their friends posted a status for them. That is not hacking.
