I don’t think the lack of backwards compatibility is a surprise, as I have said.
I don’t think the Xbox one always listening is a big deal, as I have said.
I worked with Tom on his piece about the Xbox One and Windows; our intent was to merely explain that Microsoft to do more than say “it runs three operating systems,” in order to impress us of the impressiveness of the architecture. Optimally, running Windows means you’d be able to effortlessly put Windows games on the Xbox One and vice versa; of which would be something to brag. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
I am definitely looking forward to trying the Xbox One.
Secondly, they should have finished the commercial with them tapping the 920s together, sharing the video, then one of them telling the phone to send it to a contact.
I think they are more making fun of the other companies (especially their fans) making those features out to be big deals, when similar functions can be found on WP8 (though they didn’t point it out).
The Verge has no agenda? You mean they make articles with pictures of Microsofts day to day stock price dropping (though it has been up since Windows 8 hit the scene), because it is actually relevant? Wouldn’t it be more relevant to make Apple ones with such pictures, as the amount of money lost for investors has been crazy? Of course not, because that doesn’t fit their agenda.
Ed’s piece had less bias in it than this piece. Wouldn’t you say so?
I have a Windows 8 desktop at home (actually a laptop connected to a monitor), works fine for me. Actually works better and faster than when I had Windows 7 on it.
A buddy was using it the other day. I had told him that Windows 8 is pretty sweet, you just need to get use to it. After about two hours of use (he was playing Utopia and doing other things), he said he didn’t understand the hate it recieves, though it was fresh and that the hidden features (read the tabs on both sides) were very useful.
All in all, I think it works fine with K&B, just as well as touch.
