Unfortunately, I’m one of those who has a gateway as a modem. FYI, you can disable this somewhat-public hotspot by logging into your Comcast account online. My Account → My Services → Under the Equipment heading, turn “XFINITY WiFi Home Hotspot” off. It may take some time for this to take effect. For me, it took around an hour.
