Don’t know what your talking about, if I’m going to pay €2,800, I better not be getting a phone that looks like every other phone on the market. This is a great looking piece of hardware that looks futuristic.

I really love the MBPs, but they are really slow in comparison to a similar spec’ed windows laptop.

Another annoying thing is that everybody in Starbucks, Barnes & Noble etc has one, and when you bring yours, you are associated with that stereotype. I never imagined a laptop causing others to judge you.

Why don’t we re-think this by copying webOS ?

I agree. In this case, I think HP has a right to design a laptop that plays on similarities to design aesthetics that Apple made popular as long as it doesn’t look exactly the same.

This might blow the minds of iOS Users, but this isn’t going to blow the minds of android users with the featured packed google maps and navigation.

Its not the fact that HP didn’t get there first, its the fact that this is where the trend is. Apple set the trend with industrial design. HP has a right to follow the trend. Thats common business practice. Why are all cars rounded instead of square? Are they all copying each other? Should Toyota put wood paneling on their cars to differentiate themselves?

Before plastic was popular, does this mean all of the laptops of the 2000’s are infringing? Obviously people like industrial design now. It makes sense to align to the market. Does it not?

When everybody likes the color red, whats wrong with using the color red? Should I as a company make my products blue and go bankrupt doing so? Apple should not be a bully of design fundamentals. They should however be a bully of design differentiators. You cannot patent minimalism.

It is where the form factor is leading it, what do you want the keyboard section to be fatter than the battery section? Look at the Insight and most economical cars, they are not simply copying the Prius, its the form factor.

Howabout those who like industrial design and want windows 7/8 ?

Thanks Paul for volunteering to be a social experiment. It will be interesting to see which things improve or negatively influence our lives, through the interwebs. Does this mean you will have to hunt for the yellow-pages now?
