That’s not what I’m really saying at all, but thank you for putting words in my mouth. Being ignorant and foolish have nothing to do with intelligence. Ignorance is a choice to not learn more about things so you can stay in your own little happy land. Foolishness is doing something you know you shouldn’t have been doing anyway.
Much of that can be applied to a lot of “smart” people and also to those in power, in addition to the general public. I don’t think constant states of violence are a good thing, nor is a constant state of fear. Instead of looking for some deeper meaning in what I said and trying to berate me for what you conclude, think of it like this:
If you tell a child to not touch the stove because it’s hot, they won’t really understand it until they burn themselves. The pain teaches.
Likewise animals (including humans) have the innate drive to use physical touch to communicate. Most times it doesn’t hurt, but sometimes it does. In those times that it does hurt, there is an important lesson that one is trying to teach to the other.
If you have some anger issues, then I suggest you might try and talk to someone about them.

I’m not agreeing with him in this situation, but sometimes violence is the best answer for the ignorant and foolish. It’s one of the best ways to learn.

I don’t see the relation to the comcast deal. If ESPN is going to pay money for us, then it’s not really cheating like comcast was doing since comcast controlled the whole pipeline. One is exclusion (comcast) while the other is just another entity footing the bill(ESPN).

You know when 3D will become a good idea? When people can put 3D images on paper. When we can print pictures on a 2D surface and view them in 3D, that’s when it’ll pick up. Someone needs to work on that.

I’m not so sure. Their owner seems pretty bent on doing things the right way and helping the world/environment while also having a business. He talked at a TED event about distribution of electricity, as opposed to centralized utility. It doesn’t seem, to me at least, that he’d sell out to any of the big companies.

I really wish these guys would make a pick-up truck. I have an 09 Tacoma and I’ve found having a bed indispensable. I realize that towing things would use up a lot of juice, but I don’t think most with trucks tow things every day. I hope that someone comes out with a viable electric vehicle before I eventually have to get rid of my truck.

Well they’re paying on a loan they got, but those are usually set, so as long as you’re making over your budgets, you’re making money.

I know you’re being sarcastic, but I really do wish I could run both OS’ on my computer. I use it mainly for gaming, illustrator/photoshop, AutoCad, and sketchup, but I can’t get anywhere near the same specs as my desktop on a mac variant. Much less upgrade easily, unless things have changed.

So you’re basically asking for people to be put on welfare and be taken care of by the government? What about all the people with mental problems that can handle checking you out at the grocery store, but can’t handle more “creative” jobs?

Because people make computer applications that take care of looking up all the tax codes and do all that pesky math for you.
Though I think people are starting to confuse “small businesses” with “businesses down the street from me that aren’t Best Buy.”
this only applies to the internet, not brick stores that don’t do online things.

Thereby allowing local businesses that are actually near you, giving jobs to people, to stay open and continue contributing to your local economy instead of letting the internet be a black hole of money for your community?

I’m in school for Landscape Architecture right now, and we use PS, AI, and ID mostly. We have access to the others, but I don’t know how to use them and haven’t found a need for them. We do a lot of design on the computer, but I consider my self more of a casual user. Most of what we do is combining images, and putting together board layouts to show off our designs in a graphically pleasing way.
I could spend the $30 a month to have access to the suite. But I only need in while I’m in school, so that’s an Automatic $100+ that I’m wasting during the summer. I think right now it’s better to just buy CS6 and not have to worry about it. If I get a job with a big company that pays for all that stuff, then great. If not, then I’ll just use CS6 for whatever my needs end up being.
People say it’s less than my cell bill, or it’s less than netflix and hulu and all that. Well My cell bill is $45 a month, and I don’t do hulu or netflix. I have whatever TV comes with my internet and I don’t even watch it. All this monthly stuff starts to add up, and that’s what people don’t realize. Part of the reason people can’t manage their money.
