There is a certain logic to it, yeah, but consider this: everyone I know says “May 24th, 2013,” not “24th May, 2013.” So in that sense, the month/day/year format keeps consistent with the way people talk, at least in the US. Maybe it’s different elsewhere.

So you want a US-based website to start using a measurements standard that its largest group of readers doesn’t use and likely doesn’t understand, all to prove a point? Yeah that’s a great idea, guy.

I know, I’m just no where near any of the towers to be able to receive the broadcasts, without getting a rooftop antenna. :( Don’t think my landlord would let me install one of those!

I’m sorry, man. I appreciate the time it took you to write that last reply but it doesn’t change the fact that you’re points don’t help your cause, especially point 3 about the Disney parks which is just plain irrelevant and shows you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Anyway I’m done with this discussion. Cheers.

We should probably stop thinking about these as game consoles. They’re multimedia machines, and becoming more so with each new software update and hardware generation. So really, he’s correct, in my opinion.

Pretty sure the Xbox One will play games. And I’m willing to bet their online infrastructure will still be better than PSN. I had a ps3 for blurays and a 360 for gaming. I’m glad next time around I won’t need two different boxes for my needs. THAT’S why they’re so focused on multimedia, they’ve already got the gaming side of the equation taken care of.
But feel free to take that bet that gaming will be better on the ps4. I wouldn’t put money on it but whatever.

And it probably won’t have local market games. Like as a Chicago bears fan bears games would prob be blacked out. Same as cubs games on the mlb.tv app. :(

Not the same thing at all. Bieber is a real human, this character is exactly that— a character in a work of fiction with no traits, hobbies, or personality outside of what was given to us in a movie. Or are you happy when people take characters from your favorite book and totally change them and ruin them in the movie version? Because this is pretty much the same thing.

I dunno, man, you started your reply with “What is crap is…” which is direct reply to my comment. And what I mean by “I don’t care” is that i don’t care about all the stuff you talked about in your reply, including all what the picture says and all that. To see why i don’t care about that, see my reply to you above. :)

I’m saying I don’t care. I shutdown the computer by selecting “shutdown” and then I’m done with it. All the stuff you’re going on about matters not to me. I select “shutdown” and then when I turn my computer back on it boots nice and quick. End of story for 99% of computer users out there, including myself.

The big 920 sequel will come in the fall. Y’know, one year later as is traditional. This is just a 920 variant for a different carrier. Nothing to get upset over. You didn’t really expect a brand new flagship 920-esque sequel within 6 months, did you?

Sort of a passive invitation system. But hopefully better than, say, Xbox Live’s “Beacon” system, which is the closest thing I can think of. That’s a nice idea. Just not Google+, please. I have no interest in joining it.

That’s crap and you know it. Obviously that’s not the real shutdown process or you would have to do that every time. But you don’t. The real shutdown is whatever happens when you select shutdown from the menu, hibernating parts or not.
Honesty, people like you make me laugh.

Yeah, Verizon’s logo is just ugly and obnoxious. It’s time to design a new one that doesn’t make phones uglier just by having it on them!

How about a Verge/Verge Video app for my Xbox 360 and/or ps3? That would be killer. Ign has an app, and o know you guys could do a MUCH better job than them. It’d make it easy for me to watch your new content every day after work.

Why do they need to come out and say that to you? You sound like a smart guy, smart enough to know that that’s the situation. You don’t need The Verge to tell you what you already know. I’m not completely disagreeing with the notion that YouTube is a better experience and Verge Video isn’t necessarily the ideal way to see their stuff, I’m just saying that you’re asking them to spell out what you (and, frankly, the rest of us) already know.

Disagreee. It should be an edge/bezel swipe gesture. I don’t want to have to leave the app I’m in to see notifications.

Actually, I say it’s good form. It sounds like you would prefer The Verge to research the legalities of using such an extension in every country they have readers. That, of course, would be ridiculous. But making the simple statement that “it’s very purpose should be enough to have you questioning its legality” leaves the onus on the reader to investigate potential legal probs should they wish to use the extension, while warning that all things considered, it’s still pirating music and is probably frowned upon in most jurisdictions.
They’re not outright claiming definitively that the extension is illegal in any specific jurisdiction. They’re just generally warning that it very well could be, so buyer beware. Good form, The Verge.
