I was holding out for this phone, but I decided to go for the One X after reading reviews, and seeing images. But my impression is that the phones are on par, each having its own advantages, there is no clear winner, it is important to pick the one right for you.
I am picky about displays, and have a personal dislike for the pentile graininess and AMOLED over-saturation. I find the high ppi LCD natural look (a la iphone 4/4s) more pleasing, but that is completely personal opinion. I also am a big fan of solid aesthetics, and prefer a substantial feel,. This comes with a significant trade of for expandable memory/swappable battery, but my usage has never required over 32gb, nor swapping batterys, but that is a serious issue for other users, so they may need to consider otherwise. I dont mind HTC sense (im unique in this i am aware) I honestly think the widgets etc are nice, but I may experiment with APEX. Ive always seen touchwiz as ‘cheap’ looking however again, I can see how others may like it, but it does retain more stock android design cues which is great. The manufacturer software tweaks rub me more as gimmics, as I dont see myself using them, however HTCs camera software is excellent. The GS3 camera seems to be a bit better than the One X, however I am not a very intensive camera phone user. I was disapointed for this phone probably due to hype, but there is no way I can justify calling this a bad product.
See how this is not clear cut? asking to make a comparison based on 0.2 review points is ridiculous, make your desicions on the CONTENT of the review.

I will never understand people who choose mice and keyboards based on aesthetics, not ergonomics. Comfort and not having RSI are more important to me. This applies to the magic mouse also, no matter what people say, having your hand adapt to your mouse rather than the other way around is ridiculous.

Correct, the event could have been covered in 500 words, but it shows you completely missed the point of the article. You clearly don’t understand what real journalism is. Paul isn’t merely ‘reporting’ on the event, he takes us through his experience of it, and while staying generally unbiased has managed to build a discussion, and pose some really interesting questions to the reader. If you want 500 words read, a crappy news report, this is an article .
On another note, this article has made me realise that these parts of The Verge are the the internet equivalent to a magazine (like TIME etc), and could really be on the forefront of something, because I have never seen a website with such quality features, technology related or otherwise. (If anyone can suggest any others to me I would love to check them out)
Fantastic work Paul, and the Verge team, because the content and format of this is perfect, the succinct video was pretty awesome in its impact, and filmed and edited beautifully.
The Verge is really on the verge of something truly amazing.
