He was responding to the original question. I think that getting this defensive over an answer to a question, and answer that disagrees with you especially, shows that you are a little insecure about the situation in general.

That would be a valid point accept it ignores the basis of the point, which is that iOS is similar to Windows 3.1/NT. This assertion was based on the original post that compared an old AOL GUI to Windows 8. Both are new OSs being compared to old OSs, but you brought up an OS that existed within the same time-frame as Win 3.1, and as such, your point is not valid in the context of the original post.
You are awarded no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

So instead of stealing, you are saying that Apple was unable to create an original idea itself, so it bought one. That’s MUCH better.
I shouldn’t need the tag, you should be able to tell that was sarcasm.

That was just a weird show. I remember watching it on the sci-fi channel. Also, the original Spider-man and Hulk shows. Watch out for the angry green Lou Ferrigno!

The rationale is just choice. Giving people a choice is not a bad thing. Some people don’t want a 4.3 inch phone, some people don’t want a black phone, or some people won’t like the weight of one phone compared to the other. Choice matters.

One of the main reasons I like my Lumia is not really even the screen size, it is the way it rests in my hand. It just feels like it fits better than my other two phones (Focus/Focus S) and the ClearBlack display is noticeably better. I would recommend to AT&T that they do not put the 900 next to any of the other Amoled displays. The Lumia is a bit heavier, but that just makes it feel like it is not going to fall out of my hands.

In this case you are correct, it all has to do with context. This is the reason people always use “it’s” in the wrong way. The conjunction of it is is always used with an apostrophe “s”, the possessive form does not actually use an apostrophe, example:
The dog moved its head.
It’s looking for a bone.

adding an apostrophe before an “s” does not make a word possessive automatically. In this case, saying “ball’s” is indeed a way to say “ball is” because it would be a conjunction of the two words into one. It would be wise to look up grammar rules before commenting on grammar.

I’m not going to lie, I want a Fiat 500. Maybe not as my main car, but I do want one bad.

From what I understand the original is good up until the end, which is basically the creator saying “Thanks for all the money, I let you clean up the mess I made of the story too.”

CISPA doesn’t keep anyone offline. It allows access to every piece of information stored in a database. If someone makes a call to a foreign country and a person from that country commits a terrorist/illegal act, you are now a suspect. That is what this bill does, because that conversation can be accessed and used as proof without the consent of anyone involved.

Kind of hard to do when our whole system is based on the party system. I agree with you, but even when you are non-partisan they still give you a label.
“A person who doesn’t belong to a party and doesn’t want to be labelled!? Preposterous!”

First off, thank you for understanding the correct definition of what a bias is.
Second, I agree that the Verge is biased, but then, bias is a hard nut to crack since it exists naturally within a culture. The Verge is made up of tech enthusiasts so they think the bill should be thrown out, a view I agree with, but that is besides the point; If you go to another site, say a right wing news page with many older readers, they may think the bill should pass because of the way their culture was when they grew up. All polls and comments are biased unless given a thorough treatment of the scientific method. Even then bias is hard to scrub clean.
Point is, the Verge is not necessarily saying what they are because of their readers, or vice-versa, it is more that the two feed one another.

The internet was built for science, and then it blew up into a media hub. In a way it WAS built for the government, just not the political government.
Also, scared and safe are not able to exist within the same time frame. If I am safe, I am definitely NOT scared, and that goes for many people. Ignorant and safe can exist at the same time though, but ignorance can be changed, it just takes a lot of effort. One way you will not change ignorance is to be angry, because the ignorant are usually the most angry until the are educated in the truth of a matter. If a person is angry, yelling back at them is not going to change their mind, it is just going to escalate things.

It’s not SOPA/PIPA. This bill IS bad, but in a totally different way than those two bills. It’s more of a supplement to the Patriot Act, and if you don’t know what that is I suggest you look it up. In basic terms, its all about how much of personal data can be legally access under the accusation of a person being a criminal.

Why especially business? This bill is trying to make it so everyone’s data can be accessed at any time if they are under suspicion of doing something illegal. If anything it is worse for the average person because it puts the power in the hands of big businesses without having any ramifications for that business. In other words, they can access your data under the guise of a person doing something illegal.
