Maybe because the initial guys were iOS devs, and not everyone knows 6 programming languages, and Twitter is courting their richest userbase. What I don’t understand is with all of Twitter’s money and staff, that they couldn’t have turned out an Android version like the WEEK after it got popular. That’s what makes no sense to me. Much less why they still can’t make it feature rich, and still keep the simplistic interface…
All we want is front facing camera access for easier #vineportraits, and a way to import videos as long as they meet the 480×480 h.264 6 sec duration spec. I’ve had some great Vine ideas but have become often frustrated and ragequit the process due to the lack of the first, and not being able to shoot my idea in a more managble way, and edit it to fit their specs. We’re not asking for it to just become another video app with a social platform, it’s just that those of us that are serious about utilizing the app want to have to tools to do so. Hence if they were able to have me upload something that fits their content guidelines and specifications, I’d be much more apt to post things rather than know that the idea that cropped up will go wasted because I don’t have a team of people helping me run my Vine like James Urbaniak…
