They’re obvious, but OK, I’ll bite and throw out some.
- HDMI pass through for live TV
- Voice control
- Gesture control
- Cloud computing
- Video calls
- If you care about sports (I don’t) some exclusives there
- Fantastic music subscription service
- Smart Glass interaction and control
Allow me to speculate:
- Beginning of the end for discs and GameStop. Think BlockBuster here. Except the dicks at Sony are sabotaging this to ride a wave of negative press.

Guys, we’re so f’d. I heard the PS4 slim will upgrade to support Laser Discs.

I like that PS4’s standard edition is selling more than their launch edition. The only thing I don’t like about the XB1 is the “Day One 2013” on the controller if you preorder. Kinect can listen to me and its welcome to check in on the Internet once or one hundred times a day. That damn text on that controller…

Agreed. X1 is a big leap forward, but change scares people. Apparently we need 2 more console generations (what, 16 – 20 years?) to get rid of discs and game retail stores.

The power difference between the PS4 and XB1 are inconsequential as is, cloud computing or not.

You people need to grow up. $499 is less than you pay for your damn phone. You should all be considering the WiiU. Its more your age range.

1. There’s a difference between commercializing everything you do and giving your info to the government. I don’t like either mind you! Just saying the video is still valid because Google does both.
2. I’ll assume you’re just being silly. . .

Apple has a huge first party hardware advantage. Its hard to overcome with all these OEMs competing on the most money they can squeeze out of shitty hardware. The PC world needs a Nokia-type to step up or a lot more first party hardware from Microsoft.

I don’t think Sony will have a backlash. I backlash on them, but I’m probably in the minority. They’re frustrating me by keeping one foot in the last generation by supporting discs and game retailers. The future doesn’t involve discs and they’re holding us all back by letting some avoid the growing pains.

No problems here. I love the new features like inline row/column inserting in Excel. Overall it works better than before.

Disagree, unless you spend the majority of your productivity time away from a desk with proper monitors. A 10" Windows 8 hybrid works wonders for real work when connected to a 27" monitor. It works well enough for those away from your desk have to do some work moments. And of course works great when you want a tablet.

Interesting. I get your point and I think it’s a good one. I like the redesign of the 360, but I’m afraid if it doesn’t have a little more CPU power it won’t go far. The 360 feels outdated in how slow it is to boot and get into an app like Netflix.

Perfect response Microsoft. If you’re stuck in the 360 era, you use a 360. Modernize whenever you and/or your community is ready.

I personally think MS is kicking ass but we’re all poisoned with online debate and product/company hate that we’re so damn negative toward everything as a first reaction without even thinking about it.

I think the online community, especially in message forums, are overwhelmingly negative about everything new. Its sad that so many people think they know how everything should be. They don’t bother to understand why something is the way it is.
At least iOS7 is fresh and a step in the right direction. OMG, I said something positive about Apple. That’s how negative things have gotten, I feel the need to say something positive.

Plainly put the 24 hour ping is to thwart thieves. It kind of blows my mind that anyone cares. If you aren’t planning to fully connect your Xbox One then by all means, stick with the 360 or PS(X) cause you’re old fashioned and need an old fashioned console.

It has to be fast first, quite second, sexy third. I have no doubt they nailed 1 and 2, so I almost don’t care about 3, but I also happen to think it’s sexy!
