So are we saying newer versions of iOs run better on older Apple hardware than newer versions of Android run on older Android hardware? If so, why would that be? Is there more to the newer versions of Android, such that they need much better hardware? Is Android hardware getting better faster than Apple hardware? Or is iOs better written than Android and so scales better with the new hardware?

Wouldn’t you rather send a message to that person and not have to hope they have their phone on/near them? Wouldn’t you want to have the option to start a conversation on the phone, continue it later on a desktop/laptop, update it via tablet whilst watching Netflix in bed, continue it on the phone the next morning etc? With SMS you have to use the phone, and you’re not going to be able (necessarily) to add people to the conversation, add photos etc.
Google+ has hundreds of millions of users, but all that counts is if YOU know people who use it. I don’t care about everyone else! It’s a little like the willy waving of how many apps exist for iOs vs Android vs Windows etc. 99.9% of them are going to be shit apps you’re never even going to hear of, let along try/like/need.

So if it’s not user base then what’s the reason?

They wanted a logo a given size and they got one. They’ll display it on the screen for a few seconds then they’ll show the movie. It doesn’t matter what it looks like. At some point the logo will change again. Anyone who gets excited or upset about logos needs to have a good word with themselves.

As a brit it’s really odd to see how dull and uniform American money is. Don’t blind/vision impaired people find it really hard work?

The secret is to detach the add-on keyboard to stop it falling over. However, then you’ll wish you’d bought an Android/iOs tablet as the OS is not exactly intuitive
