If you take a nearly empty of ketchup and turn it upside down in the fridge, it achieves the same effect. It just takes longer.
Now if they could do that with mayonaise, that would capture my attention.

Boy, nano-sight, I’ve got a magic mouse, and it’s pretty fluid, no matter what browser I use. That is, till I run out of memory, or I allow Flash to engage.

BTW, I’ve thought for some time now that the top of The Verge home screen is what Windows 8 could be. Give me a picture of what’s going on, within the ‘low density’ color coordinated building blocks.

Paul Thurrott has a little more meat than the bones of this article. Sorry Verge, you didn’t work too hard on this. Fortunately, your readers helped out.
My own opinion is that Microsoft, once again, took a half assed approach to solving their problems. For as much good as they did, they left so many problems on the table (desktop).

PROGRAM MANAGER, talk about reconnecting some disconnected synapses…
I’d actually prefer that to the Start Menu.
No shit, I mean no sarcasm. I think 8 is a step in the right direction in that regard.

So much for drivers not being an issue between 7 and 8, but I’m sure it will be fixed before RTM.

Aero was in direct response to what Apple did with Aqua on OS X.
The problem for Microsoft was that Apple could support the advance graphics on their computers, and Microsoft caved at the last minute on the Vista capable/compatible sticker, and allowed Intel integrated graphics to qualify.

It’s pretty transparent, and it’s kinda blurry.

I think ‘grey and boring’ are positive traits in an OS. Let me add to that ‘minimal’.
The OS should be as transparent as possible, so that the application can dominate the view.
