It was a deal between the labels and Apple. Apple wanted DRM free songs, and they agreed to let the labels charge up to $1.29 per song in exchange for it.

I was late to the iPod. My first one was whatever gen iPod Touch they were selling in early 2009. It was also my first Apple product.

Now I have an iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, and a newer gen iPod Touch. The Halo effect is REAL!

First song (actually it was an entire album) was Nightwish’s Once.
