Except when it comes to Google Glass! From when it was announced last year, to released to the General Public late Next year, it’ll be around the 3 year mark!!!

Comment
Sounds like imessage now, though it’s only for iOS, it’s still Automatic and will use SMS for everyone other then other iOS users which it’ll use imessage. You don’t have to even think about it. The only clue you even have is the color of the text. Green SMS and Blue for a imessage.
If Hangouts isn’t as simple, and people just think it’s just yet another many text Apps, that’s it, few will care. It’ll be dead before it has a chance to take off. Right now I use KIK for 1 Android user.

Maybe instead of fixing the Copper, they go ahead and wire to Fiber? No matter what, WIRED is always going to be more reliable and faster then wireless!!!

I moved to VOIP a few years back with my OOMA box. It sounds better then my AT&T landline! When I moved 8 months ago into a new house out of town, it was just a matter of plugging it into my new Internet service. My Phone number Prefix is from my old town, not my new town, but it just doesn’t matter. I had my Dad move into my house and got his phone number transferred to my OOMA Box also that he’s had for the last 20+ years from yet another town Prefix. Sounds great, works great. Have 2 new OOMA phones. One for each line. They each ring differently and each have their own mail Boxes. have Unlimited Calling in the U.S. and parts of Canada, and low costs service for everywhere else plus lots of extra features that are a extra fee for normal Landline service. OOMA is basically free for 1 line, but you have to pay taxes, which for me is like $3.95 a month. For the full service it’s $9.95 a month + taxes, which I need to have 2 lines on my OOMA box. There is a $30 fee to transfer your number over. It was much quicker for my Dad then it was for me when I did it a few years back.
Of course my hardware is all hooked up to a couple UPS units so if the power goes out everything still works. We do have Cell Phones we use most of the time. The Home phones are a backup. We’ve had our phone numbers for 18+ for me 20+ for him.
Paying $40 from Comcast or others per month for VOIP service is for suckers!! There’s also E911 service support, just have to make sure you have to correct address entered!!! When I moved, I changed it.
