Have you seen GMail for iOS, Apple isn’t the one crippling that experience (see Sparrow’s ability to create a good mail app).
It’s both companies, neither sees much benefit from having the Google based maps app on iOS improve.

You do have to keep in mind that it was a much earlier incarnation of Palm that owned BeOS than the Palm which released the Pre. It is really tragic how miss managed Palm has been since it’s heyday in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Considering Microsoft’s past issues with bundling and the existing crapware complaints about Windows laptops I’d hope they don’t start bundling.
I could see plenty of promotion in Win8/RT advertising (i.e. featured in commercials, billboards, etc) and promotion in the Windows Marketplace but bundling would be a bunch of bad news.

I’d love RIM be able to come back but I really can’t see them winning their market share back in the near to mid term. They need to create a game-changing device, they will never win with a me-too-device, especially with the way the brand is tarnishing in North America.
They need to do a ground-up re-invention, re-inventing the iPhone or Android won’t cut it.
