LOL thanks. I’ll have you know that I own a Dinc2 with an experimental build of CM9 on it, had a Nexus One before anyone else I knew, and a Dinc1 as well. You sir are the fanboy, marginalizing my experience and opinion because you don’t like the answer. You’re obviously a huge Android fanboy or Samsung fanboy. Like I said, Siri is BETA product, with zero promises of working 100% of the time. Sure when it fails it’s better to do it the other way, but like I said, 90% of the time she’s making my appointments and reminders and finding locations for me very well. You’re a TROLL.

The point is that there are better screens. The One X has the best screen I’ve ever seen. Why make excuses? Sure if every phone used a Pentile AMOLED, then we could say stop complaining, but S-LCD is so superior now.

Siri a gimmick? Nah… I don’t know why everyone is complaining about, but my Siri is quite helpful and understands me 90% of the time. That’s pretty good for a beta product of this complexity. Seems like S-Voice, based on what I’m reading, is far worse and has a lower hit rate. Also ugly UI for S-voice. Another poorly executed Samsung from Apple ripoff.

That’s a little backwards. Like saying “no ability to go 200mph is a reason not to get a Mustang.”. The iPad was never intended for serious coding, it has a great many other features and uses, this would just be an added benefit if one really needed to code on an iPad cause it’s with them. Would never replace a real computer. But that can’t be a reason not to get an iPad anymore than a laptop being thicker than 0.34" thick is a reason not to get a laptop.

I love my 4S but think there is plenty of room for improvement:
1) A 4" screen would be ideal. 3.5" is small and these huge silly 4.5+ phones are too much.
2) Rounded edges are better than flat sharp edges. The build of the 4 is exquisite, however the cheaper plastic 3G felt much better in the hand. I’d like to see a new iPhone with a similar construction, but with rounded edges.
3) How about a notification LED? Most smartphones have this simple feature that is very practical and useful.
4) The back being glass does seem too prone to breakage. Perhaps a different high quality material?

He’s a tard, but brings up a good point though… this is a video. It could be generated and meaningless. Point is, to really experience something we should go and do it for real, in reality, not via a reproduction. Get glasses and go watch the real eclipse, feel the moment in time, maybe get high and do it and get all deep, whatever floats your boat. There’s big difference between pictures and video of “real” things and being an actual witness to the moment. Not so much difference between pictures and videos or real things and pictures and videos which are faked of real things. But I realize this was not his comment, I’m just bringing a new point based on it.

Agreed, but they could possibly curve the front and back glass slightly at the edges and slim the stainless steel bend slightly to give the whole phone a more rounded less edgy look. I love the design of the 4/4S, but it never felt good in the hand. Rounded edges are better for feel. And I wouldn’t complain if the back glass was replaced with some soft touch material like a matte polycarbonate feel of the HTC One X. But I know that won’t happen. Likely none of these changes will happen and it will be a 4/4S with a larger screen, but same overall dimensions and design.

No you can’t have that. Your palm or finger flesh will touch the screen and it’ll make holding it more difficult and pointless.

Yes, the Aero glass was cool for about 12 months. This is good that it’s going away.

Agreed. They should add back/forward gestures in the Finder just as they are in Safari. I too have tried and failed to go back with a swipe in Finder lol. I still love OS X to death and have found it to be the best OS personally.

There is only skueomorphism in specific apps on iOS/OS X… not persistent in the OS’es UI. So please don’t bash my favorite operating systems thank you. :)
But on the topic of skueomorphism in the calendar and some other apps in iOS/OSX… yes they must GO. I hate them so.

I’ve felt that 4" is perfect for a long time. But don’t think my 3.5" iPhone is too small. I don’t watch movies on it I have an iPad for that. So I can easily navigate my phone one handed which is a plus. However, 4" seems to be a very nice compromise between real estate and usability. If I had to choose between a 4.7+" phone or my 3.5", I’d pick the 3.5". Anything over 4.3" is silly unless you never plan on owning a tablet and watch lots of media on your phone. I have a hard time typing on such a large screen as it requires so much extra reach by my thumbs and slows me down.

I wonder why….. Are so many students buying Macbook’s these days and so MS has to make such a huge bonus offer to help sell more PCs?? I mean, it’s not a free bag, it’s a friggen Xbox360! Sure it’s like 7 years old now but still.

It’s sad we’ve created a world where an ad platform makes so much money from nothing. The company I work for created and supports a massive and extremely complex ERP system for food distribution. It’s 100 times the code Facebook is and 1000 times more complex. And we don’t make anything close to what Facebook makes in profits or revenue. This is what’s wrong with the world and the idiot consuming masses. Real stuff is worth less than nonsense. It’s sad isn’t it? NASA is nearly dead from funding cuts, but FaceBook is worth $100 billion?? We could get to Mars on less money than that. And people wonder why America is going downhill. We have no more spirit like we did in the 60’s to pioneer and push the limits of what is possible. We are too busy being stupidly over social online about what I did today and who said what! Dammit!!

Exactly. This article is full of nonsense. I tried teaching my wife about how coding works and why. She’s educated and smart, but not in the ways of technology. She couldn’t get it, period. It takes a special kind of person to be able to code anything of value, a person that can think in the abstract, and many lay people cannot. Trying to teach them how to code, even simple things, is a huge waste of time. They won’t get it, it won’t help them diagnose problems because they won’t be able to apply the knowledge, and I’d guess it would also cause further confusion as these people start explaining things the wrong way to each other. Better solution is to simply explain why things happen in their device in normal language they can understand. Code won’t help them at all understand why an app crashed because there’s far too much missing understanding of how these things work. It would be like explaining a light bulb to someone from 10,000 years ago. Good luck with that since not only is electricity missing, but also even the understanding of metals and how they work. Bah
