Definitely need those Chrome packaged apps. They can make Chrome an amazing platform if they just push it hard enough. They bought Nik Software, & I would love to see them make a great alternative to Photoshop & Pixelmator. And the new Maps seem like a no-brainer as a packaged app. Even Gmail; they bought Sparrow, so use them to create the greatest desktop experience they can for Chrome. And of course, just make the phone everybody wants with Motorola.
Those 3 purchases: Nik, Sparrow & Motorola are by far the most underutilized ones so far. I think Google just likes to throw money for the fun of it.

I know, I know… there has to be a way around that so you can just buy an unlocked phone with no issues. I have that same Galaxy Nexus & it has not been pleasant. Almost ready to pay the ETF & be done with them.

If they do this for the HTC One & put it on Verizon, I’ll just throw my credit card at the screen.

Glad it’s not something more serious. He sounded horrible on that recent earnings call.

I think his views are valid. A merger probably shouldn’t happen. But what if, for instance, rather then waiting for an update to come to your phone, you can do it directly from the Chrome browser? It’s not far-fetched at all.

Maybe I’m missing something, but exactly how are they able to bring this to Vine? I thought the only way to create a clip was in the app itself using the camera on the iPhone.

I do it all the time on my work computer. It’s totally fine. You don’t even have to run the Portable Apps launcher before running it. Just load the browser & you’re good to go.

On my Galaxy Nexus, the main ones I push are:
Gmail priority inbox
Google Now
Google Talk
Google Voice
Beautiful Widgets for weather (it just lives in the notification shade)
Ruzzle (kind of addicted, don’t judge me)
There are of course a few others, but those are the most important to me.

I just seen it in person for the first time the other day & it’s so much better looking than the pictures on the internet. Feels so solid. Curse you Verizon for not carrying this phone.

Good for Reeder. I’m currently using Feedly right now which is serving it’s purpose. Although I’m very excited to see what Digg can cook up. And hopefully Press figures out their situation soon as well.

I’ve been thinking the past week that it must be hard for Arment to work on Instapaper with its large install base & I haven’t seen any major updates to the product recently. Not to mention that Pocket doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, a product that has a full time staff working on it. Good for him.

Glad to hear about that Chrome app. As a Chromebook user (I know, shame on me), I hope you’ll be able to utilize Chrome’s features to the fullest.
But while we’re taking about apps & whatnot, what’s going on with Unnamed App?

I know a lot of people mentioned Chrome, but you should try out Chrome Beta. It updates a lot faster with more features.

Yup. I know a friend who refuses to buy apps & only pirates. I think people forget that app developers have family to feed too.

This is all about emerging music, right? Phones are always with us, allowing us to be up to the minute with something like this. Both the iPhone & Android have the biggest market share when it comes to phones, so to leave such a big audience out at launch seems like a misstep when you’re trying to get as much data as possible on music tastes.
Sorry if I came across to you as an “arrogant smart-ass.”
