Is it really responsive enough? Whenever I use Splashtop, even between computers on my LAN, it’s extremely laggy.

I agree. I just met someone the other day who was using an 4S with the entire top half of the front cracked. I think it’s a real problem that there’s no shock absorbtion whatsoever, especially with the screen laminated to the glass like it is. I almost never use cases on my stuff but I felt the need to make an exception when I got my iPhone 4S, which is a shame because it’s extremely pretty without one. If anyone can figure out how to make a durable phone that looks good and feels premium, it’s Apple, and I hope they give it a shot.

In terms of desktops and laptops, it’s nearly impossible for it to fail entirely, because of all the OEM support. There’s still a huge range between not failing and being a giant success, though. I think if it doesn’t do well against the iPad on tablets, and does just okay on desktops/laptops, that’s not a very good sign for the future.

It could do well on tablets, only time will tell. But I can’t imagine many people itching for this on their desktops. It won’t flop just because PC manufacturers have no other real options to put on their machines, but I predict alot of apathy toward it on non-touchscreen devices.

I don’t really see the point of a new proprietary connector. I understand keeping the old one because it’s everywhere, but if they’re going to move to a new one, why not just the standard mini-USB connector? Also, I hope they don’t simply keep the same glass design. It would be nice to see something more durable.
