On the Galaxy Note, there’s an option for one-handed operation. The keyboard shrinks and shifts to left or right. Never use it though. I’ve always typed in landscape anyway. Even when I had an iPhone.

I have a feeling that’s what it is too.
They’ve owned devices with low-res pentile screens in the past and are basing their thoughts on that.
It feels like even the Verge editors are in this boat!

Exactly! I was blown away the first time I saw the GNote screen. As are the people I show it to. And that’s why I bought one.
I just don’t understand all the disappointment with SAMOLED HD screens?! Pentile or not, they’re beautiful displays.

After looking at it more, I’m definitely getting the GSIII. My first impressions of it didn’t ‘wow’ me like the Note did, but it’s no where near as ugly as people say it is!
And for it being pentile? Unless you have microscopes as eyes, the screen will still look amazing at 720p resolution.
Here are a couple more reasons why I’m getting the GSIII: http://www.androidnz.net/2012/05/samsung-galaxy-s3-secrets-revealed.html

There are a couple of dev teams that ported CM9 over to the Note from GSII. It’s my first time using a CyanogenMod Rom and I can definitely see what all the fuss is about!
Was previously using a custom ICS rom with TouchWiz base, but CM9 (even though it’s unofficial) blows it out the water. ESPECIALLY battery life! Can’t wait to flash the official version…

There are a couple unofficial CM9 ports for the GNote already. I’m using one now. The Samsung S-Pen apps are replaced by third party ones. The S-pen still functions fine. Only thing that doesn’t work is the small button on the S-Pen (which I don’t think I’ve ever used).
