Ok…
I have listened to the Verge Mobile podcast a lot and never had an issue with his accent. I guess I’m just trying to get you to explain what is bad to you more.
For example….. "I hate it when he says _. The way he pronounces the word _ sounds like _ instead of _. "
That would be a more descriptive way instead of just saying “It’s terrible.”
Given better descriptions, maybe people could understand what your problem with his voice is better.

You only say that it’s ‘terrible’. What is terrible about it? Explain why his accent is bad.

That’s 15 hours. That’s actually amazingly good IMO. I’d LOVE to have a phone that would let me be away from a charger that long and still get decent use out of it.

Wow. The could have invested a little more money in retheming the place so it wasn’t so blatant.

Well obviously, I have full access to the break room. But it’s not bad. It’s climate controlled and close to Target.

Getting Amazon Prime for free as a student is amazing. I had it for year and used it so much that now, paying for it feels like a bargain. 2 Day shipping is free and I live within one of the warehouses so a lot of the things I buy actually show up the next day.
Best Buy is now just a showroom. I go mainly just to try out something that I am thinking of ordering online.

A few years back I was looking at TVs in BB and talking with a friend about what to look for. A customer who was with a BB salesman asked me what I thought they should buy because I sounded like I knew more than the salesrobot.
I understand that these people do NOT want to look at TV specs all day, even if they get paid and at the end of the day, just want an honest job but I don’t really expect them to know every single detail about certain devices. Fact is, most BB employees are not that geeky. If you hire non geeky people who only push the add ons and higher priced, more profitable items, you get crappy sales people who are basically just work the register and know nothing about the widgets and sprockets they sell.

I think the problem is people want to have all of the features of the new OS and not have to worry about an app not working.
Having used ICS on my phone and then going back to 2.2, I can say that I LOVE ICS’s version of Gmail. It was hard to go back to 2.2 but I wanted a stable phone and unfortunately, the rom’s I’ve tried were not stable enough for me to last for more than 4 weeks without me having to go back to stock.
I think that 95% of apps will run on 2.2 or above. There are some widgets here and there that you’ll loose from Google apps but honestly, I don’t miss them that much. I will say that if I had a G+ widget, I’d use it more. I’m too used to Twitter and FB widgets now to worry about opening the G+ app.
You can live without being on ICS, but there is no legitimate excuse for any phone that came out in 2012 to not ship with it.

While true, I think the phone should be reviewed as it comes out of the box, with all software in tow. It is important to me that he listed what was uninstallable and what was not however.
What I think he means by spoiled is not that you can’t stop a process from running, but that instead of “Hold this button down, this menu pops up,” you have to go through a 3 step process to do it.

Perhaps I’ve been spoiled by Samsung, LG, and Android 4.0, but I expect a smartphone to come with a simple way to halt applications. I was forced to download a third-party app from Google Play.
This may have been it.

It’s being sold as a tablet though. It’s a tablet. No one would seriously carry a 7 inch phone around if one was marketed.
I see what you are saying about it not being a tablet in the since that it is on the low end of what people consider tablets to be. However, there is no reason why it couldn’t run ‘tablet class’ applications on that display. It’s just software. If only phone apps were on the iPad, people would still call it a tablet. To compare, I would say that a Galaxy Note would be the upper limit, if not the limit for a phone display but I wouldn’t quite call it a tablet.

Oh! And last year, you had to have the college email address or college ID in hand already to get the discount. So that means summer or early registration before the semester starts.

MS can afford to do it plus, everyone knows how crazy parents get when they send their kids off to college for that first year, buying way more stuff than they actually need.
You can’t blame any business for trying to take advantage of that. Plus, it’s only for college students, not the gen pop.

They could re do the UI for larger screen apps on Android. It’s not that it’s not capable. Developers are not putting in the effort. If a phone app’s core functionality is there, then taking that same code, you can change the interface on Android to take advantage of the extra screen space. Just recompile and submit to the Play Store and label it as the tablet version.
What I do think is interesting is that even with the Fire on the market for as long as it has been, we still have not seen much of an uptick in Android tablet apps that feel tablet oriented. There are some but not as many as I would have thought by now.

I took advantage of this last year. It was totally worth it. Then got an 250GB HD for only 80 and used a USB stick to transfer all my saves.
Wish Apple would do this with the iPod like they did in 2010 as opposed to a $100 gift card like last year.

No need. You can buy one cheaper from someone used. You don’t have to buy the phone new. Not everyone even wants the latest newest phone. Otherwise, people wouldn’t buy those used 4S iPhones when the 2012 iPhone drops.

C Spire doesn’t have 15 billion dollars. They don’t even have 1 million customers. Apple could have made a deal with them that was porportionate to their size compared to Sprint, but I doubt it. I really think Sprint worked with ‘selling’ C Spire some of their handsets to offset their costs. Plus C Spire is trying to get their LTE live late summer so they are clearly trying to get in on the first wave of people getting the 2012 iPhone.
