Despite what you may have heard, this isn’t 4k. 4k means 4096 px wide, with height dependent on aspect ratio. This is actually QFHD, or Quad Full High Definition, which is double the dimensions of HD (1080p), for 4 times the area (hence Quad.) 4k is to QFHD as 2k is to HD.

While I agree with your overall point, it’s worthwhile to point out that most people judge the quality of a plastic by its feel, not its performance.

I personally like the feel of polycarbonate, but as my nalgene bottle will readily demonstrate, polycarb is vulnerable to scratching, and in severe cases, chipping.
