You forgot to mention, in contrast to Amazon losing money, Apple was pushing the losses on the publishers with clauses stating that Apple always get 30% of the revenue and Apple gets to set the prices.

Well…ya. It’s still Windows, way better experience than Linux. Linux runs my servers and development VMs day and night, but my computers run Windows.
Disclaimer: Huge Linux user, been let down by lack of compatibility and completeness of several dozens of linux installs with over a half dozen distros.

We are no strangers to Oligopolies in Canada, but no one here is dumb enough to defend or “love” the companies who are blatantly and greedily absorbing as much profit as possible.

You love Apple because they force control of a situation and make competitors bend to their will to ensure Apple’s bottom line is always growing?
Am I missing something?

Microsoft would pay Google to build the app; revenue would be pure profit.
Google can give them they API for the app Microsoft built; again, pure profit.
Google just wants to choke out the platform. They had the maps redirect, the calendar issue (albeit extended), now this…I’m sure others could tack on more examples.
20m people is more than half of Canada. These people are your customers; you shouldn’t be telling them they’re insignificant.
Edit: I own a Nexus 4, came from Windows Phone. Wouldn’t mind going back if this crap keeps up.

Despite these one-off zero-day exploits and the bank of them Google embarked on, Windows is much more secure than it may appear.
MS went through a refocus on security back in 2002 and it has been paying off for them. Vendors/researches might be annoyed with MS’s protocol, but it works http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/news/features/2002/feb02/02-20mundieqa.aspx

GIF is an acronym; pronouncing it as a word would be a form of slang, therefore it is “GIF”, and no asshat with an award at a podium is going to arrogantly tell the world how to mis-pronounce a non-word with no supporting reason!
Some people.
