This is tricky.

I think everybody loves the passbook app interface. It’s sexy, real and there is no actual interface: it’s a stunning design.

Steve always wanted a beautiful interface with beautiful hardware. Beautiful minimalistic hardware and vivid, life-like interfaces.

Software needs to have life, like the recent podcasts app. The tape deck could have been slightly less intrusive, but it’s a jaw-dropping touch that really gives the app life. The revised version is just bland, albeit functional.

There’s a very fine balance.
