Just pointing out the difference The Verge uses in headlines, for similar features from different companies:
“The Xbox One will always be listening to you, in your own home”
vs:
“Google’s latest voice search features now available in Chrome”

If the Xbox One really looks as uninspiring in real as it does in the photos, I’ll be sticking to my PC for gaming
Does your PC look more inspiring, or is it just a black box as well?

Soon Chrome will be listening all the time, waiting for “OK Google”? Creepy stuff, somebody should write an article about that or something.

Here is my theory. They didn’t announce full details of how the DRM works on Day 1 because the articles written by the media would have only focused on DRM. Shit, there are plenty of articles, like this one, about DRM and they DIDNT even really talk about it!
The details will come out, don’t get your panties in a bunch. Right now they’re trying to steer everybody toward the new features and games rather than pricing.

Whats creepier, Xbox listening for “Xbox On”. Or Google driving a car around all the neighborhoods in the US, sniffing information from open Wifi networks.

It says it can recognize the Xbox controller, so moving the controller around could be another input. Kind of reminds me of playing Mario Brothers on the NES when I was a little kid, and moving the controller up and down trying to get Mario to jump just a little bit higher.

Yeah, but can it do Instagram? And I’m not talking about some crappy 3rd party uploader. I want actual Instagram. Otherwise the Xbox One is worthless.

I prefer my search engine to monetize MY pockets. With Bing Rewards I have redeemed $20 worth of Amazon gift cards, and I have enough to get $35 more in my account right now! More money than I’ve ever made on Google.

I don’t think there is a need for an actual app. Just pretending that an app like this is installed on your phone should be good enough to produce the same effect.

I’m hoping for a Tmobile variant. The sole tmobile windows phone right now is Lumia 521 (810 will be phased out shortly). I hope this means there is a Tmobile high end version on the way so I can take advantage of that $50 a month price!
