I’ve used both and the difference is really in the texture (at least on the 3rd party version I used with the 5D vs the Canon) They both achieve the same thing, but the 3rd party version felt more plastic heavy, while the Canon one had a bit of a rubber feeling.

The minimum focusing distance on the 135 really inhibits its use as a macro lens (cropping really isn’t an option for video- I need all my pixels) and I absolutely love the 135 at 2.0, I think it’s one of the sharpest in the lineup. That being said, if I had to drop a lens from my kit, that’d be the first to go.

Hey, thanks!
We’ve been playing with the Mk3’s audio features a bit, mostly in studio, and it has definitely cut down on post time since we don’t have to sync. In the field, we’re working on some solutions to get two separate channels into the 1/8th inch input on the mk3 (usually two lav mics) So we’ll probably be adding an XLR box of some sort to the Mk3 kit.

It’s about 200GB with a the audio SD card. The cards are labeled on the flip side with Card number, email address, and a google voice number.

We have duplicate lenses/equipment for each kit setup- Alpha kit, Beta kit, etc (and that’s what they do on Star Trek, so…yeah)

It’s a standard 15" Macbook Pro, the lighting just makes it look as if it’s the black matte version. (This scene was lit with a single light – the one in the background- the rest was available light from the laptop)
