That’s not what I mean about “hate speech”. What I mean in this context about “hate speech” is speech used as a weapon to encourage people to commit violent acts. That is something that in my opinion cannot be seen as protected free speech. While I think that free speech should be protected as an absolute I also think that once speech is turned into a weapon against living beings it no longer qualifies.

Freedom of speech exactly means that I can offend any people’s ideas whenever I want. I, for example, think that ALL religions are stupid and idiotic. I have right to say that. Other people might find that my view that there’s no evidence of existence of any god is stupid and they have right to say that.
You surely see the difference of talking about ideas and people trying to convince others to commit a genocide? I really hope you do. You are talking about speech as a weapon used to commit crimes. That doesn’t fall under the free speech as we know it. This is also exactly why we have a “draw mohammed day”. A small group of people thought that insulting an idea is a Ok basis for killing people.

Any and all ideas must remain open for critique. Speech must remain free even when it offends ideas that are held dear by large number of people. I personally don’t condone the idea of holocaust denialism being criminal in France for example. I think the law is stupid.
The analog that many people here too try to make is that if critique of religions needs to remain free then racist hate speech should also remain free. It is disturbing how people fail to see the difference. I’m saying that critique of all IDEAS must remain free in all circumstances. Racist hate speech is an attack against people, not against ideas. Attack against people should never be allowed.

Looks to me that you definitely do not get freedom of speech.

The design as well as the user experience fits very well into Android and the app feels like it belongs in the phone. They’ve succeeded very well in this redesign.

If I understand the article correctly these downloads were tries to download form a site. If that’s true this number only means that people went “This one doesn’t work. I’ll try this other one… OK. This one works, done” 44,845 times. So in effect they delayed few people’s pirated film downloads…

You’re definitely right that UX is brand. But to do 1-to-1 port of the full UI design from one platform to another is laziness or ignorance. It is possible to maintain your brand when doing it right. Look at Pocket for example. Evernote is another good example.
It is much more important to be consistent between apps on one platform than being consistent withing one app and multiple platforms. Not many people use the same app on iOS and Android but all Android users use ton of othe Android apps as do iOS users with other iOS apps.

This can be added to the long (and sadly growing) new Android apps that are build by large iOS teams that don’t bother taking the time learning the new target platform. Very sad.

Sorry. And ICS phone with a menu button is a non-starter to me. Press and hold for multi-tasking as well as the menu button itself go down in history as one of the best examples of greatest design failures. I don’t understand why companies fail to get it.
