I have since seen this movie two times, besides the shaky cam I found a few things about MOS that bothered me.
First there is no comic relief. I think this is what made The Avengers so enjoyable. Comic book story lines are often over the top to begin with, with world conquering super villains, a well timed one liner adds dimension to a story. Christopher Nolan’s batman trilogy was sparse with them, “What, they don’t like falafel? “, Want to see a magic trick? MOS seemed to take itself to seriously and at times it needed a break. The only time that I laughed was a Zack Snyder reference to 300. When General Zod begins the coup to take over Krypton…Jor-El tells him…”This is madness”, I found myself wanting to yell out…madness?….This is Sparta! Not that too much comic relief is good…you would end up with Ironman 3.
But the biggest thing that kind of irked me and I couldn’t put my finger on it until the second time I saw MOS was Supermans over all motivations. In Nolan’s Batman, Bruce Wayne was first motivated by revenge, but discovers that people are flawed and make mistakes but can be redeemable and ultimately make the right decision. Batman was really there to help people realize this….then exit stage right.
On the other hand, it seems like Superman is here to help humans…because we are just to stupid to help ourselves. Jor-El seemed to point out he is a God and earth needs him. There seems to be no intrinsic value to why he wants to save earth. Maybe because his parents are here, or lois lane, or that Zod killed his father. It is just not clear. I will give you the fact that this movie will probably be part of a series and his character has time to grow, but MOS left me wondering.
Michael Shannon does play a General Zod very well.

I saw it last night….it was OK.
Better then Ironman 3, but not as good as The Avengers. To much shaky cam!
Batman begins and X-Men first class had a better origin story.

OK, I have a 360 but no kinetic. If you are playing a game online without head phones and another player yells out…“Xbox Off” will yours turn off?
Reminds me of the Clapper….and the question if you are watching tv and the TV audience claps will your tv turn off.

I loved BFBC2. But I think full destructibility of buildings sometimes took away from the game play. For example if one of the crates was in a building. Instead of going in and arming the bomb….players would just tube and use tanks to destroy the building from a far, which would then collapse and blow up the crate. There was really no way to defend the building. Which is why I love BFBC1 more in hindsight.
