But wouldn’t google want more users on android than ios since that is software made by them?
Also, tis a wee bit annoying that my friends with iPhones get a decent version of Google now before me…. But I guess that’s Sony and AT&Ts faults.

Yeah, it’s not the greatest currently. But like stated above, the app is made in a way that it shouldn’t matter who’s online when you’re on your phone; just message and they’ll reply when they get the chance.
When on Gmail, though, there is a green bar under those whom are online… So that’s useful.
What annoys me is that on my phone the enter key doesn’t seem to be putting my text on a new line when it sends. It’s incredibly annoying because I use new lines a ton.

An android tablet that matches the surface pro? Isn’t the surface pro a full on PC?
Personally, after just finishing my second year of college, as an engineer who supposedly needed a powerful computer for demanding programs, I could have gotten through with a tablet, and used my schools computers for the thorough work.
That being said my computer is heavy on supply and light on demand (that’s where all our money is going I guess)
I would get a convertible ultra book if I were you. I wish u had one and I hope to be getting one next summer, as for now I’m keeping my Envy 14 and getting an Xperia Tablet Z.
But I would highly recommend a convertible windows 8 device for college, preferably one of the lighter ones, like a yoga.
Also girls will thunk you’re awesome haha.

Zune pass definitely still exists…

The thing that has google pulling me away from Zune, though, is the accessibility of my music.
I am die hard Zune…. But there not much I can do about getting my Zune pass music playing wireless by bluetooth in my car, or by nfc in my apartment.
It’s quite sad, really, that MS gave up on such a great product.

Amen to that. Whoever designed that Zune software, they should be getting the big bucks right now to spread that influence

It’s crazy to hear G+ catching up with Facebook after all this time. Not that I disagree or anything, just that it surprises me. Lord help me though somebody won’t enjoy my opinion

Yes. Losing my song credits to the dreaded month. Agh
I’m ready to switch though considering my subscription music is locked to my Zune, which has no blue tooth or nfc. Whereas All Access is available on my computer tablet and phone which have bluetooth…. Quite useful, hopefully I can truly commit in the next 28 days though

I still use the Zune software…. Microsofts design language is practically based on the Zune software.

Great post, agree completely. Google, I think is stronger than ever. I think I/O is rocking it right now and is in no way a disappointment. Sure some parts (hangouts particularly) are taking their first steps…
I’m excited about the new Google, and most noticeably G+, amazing design and effort going into that service, I just hope more people can learn to love, or at least accept, it.

Well you don’t necessarily need to switch. The two can and will coexist.
Facebook=keeping up with happenings with friends
G+=Keeping up with happenings in things you like while simultaneously feeding the overlord more info to better suggest info on said interests.
It’s just simply a matter of whether people are willing to put in the effort to invest.
Sadly, most are not :(

Honestly I love my love my Xperia Ion… It’s just those dang updates…. Almost a year old flagship and I’m still on ICS, but oh well, my choice. And I’m about to get the Xperia Tablet Z so obviously not quite terrible enough of an experience.
I hope you get your updates in a timely manner though, if you do I’m sure that phone will last you plenty long.
Congrats on the Sony love.

I do need to upgrade, in more than one way. My Computer is messed up in so many ways I don’t even want to start listing them off haha
I just remember carrying my computer on with me to my biology lecture because I was in the middle of a big part of a song I was working on and when I sat down and clicked the trackpad the sound just spazzed out, made the loudest sound I’ve ever heard from a computer… Straight out of my headphones. Whole room was staring at me as it took 20 seconds to get the thing to shut up. Traumatizing.
Oh also my computer is heavy :-P

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to pick up my computer and move around the apartment/dorm with it….then I remember the precious Hard Drive.
Convenience really.
But I’m getting the Xperia Z tablet mostly cause I can use it just about everywhere. I feel like with a laptop or any “locked foldable” format device I need a more formal setting and opportunity to use it or I just feel like it’s being inconvenient.
With the Z I’ll be able to stream my movies to my TV, my music to my sound system, my stuffs from my phone, and it’s pretty damn light for a tablet. Seeing as how the Neux 7 is so cheap and light (my roommate has one, love it), I’d say go for it :D

Heh, I’m still bout to get my new tablet running on an S4
I’m a little bit behind by “newest and greatest” standards, but I think anything in this, or last generation of CPUs is quite strong enough.
I think it more depends on the specific device and what you put on it….but I’m no processor master.
