The version running on TV says tablet. Not sure why they changed it for youtube, but they did.

Within the launch window, they’ll both sell. Short-term after that, PS4 might have an advantage. Long term they’ll both be 300 or less in a few years and it won’t really matter. The PS3 has sold less than the 360 but they’ve both been successful and I see no reason to believe the same thing won’t happen this time around, regardless of who “wins”

the thing with that is would it be worth it for someone to never have their console online just to try and cheat the system? Not being able to use live is enough of a deterrent for most people and for the extremely small number of people that would still do it are the ones who were going to go out of their way to find any opportunity to pirate anyway so it’s just not worth fighting them.

The disc authentication thing is something I was thinking about earlier and is probably the simplest option. We all know the main reason for the drm setup is to allow disc-free play. If you say that the license is tied to the disk, then having the disk will override the 24 hour check if the console can’t connect for whatever reason. As soon as the new console connects and runs the check it removes the license from the original. That mean the only way this could be used to get two copies for the price of one is if one of the two consoles never connects to the internet again, which is probably enough to deter people deliberately trying to beat the system because it just wouldn’t be worth the cost of never going online.

The 360 launched at 399 and if you take into account the value of a dollar now compared to 2005, 499 seems about right. It’s no more than a tablet and it’ll probably have a much longer shelf life

My friend and I have been looking for a good way to livestream our ahem adventures playing NHL forever. This happens and now I’m even more angry that it won’t be on the one until 15.
Thanks EA
As usual, you’re the reason we can’t have nice things.

I’m fairly certain official snapchat will come soon enough as the devs were asking users about what platform they should support next and WP was a resounding winner, although having a 3rd party one on the way is still nice to know.
I find it funny that people are constantly citing Vine as a dealbreaker app when it isn’t on Android yet either. The reality is, as long as a service like that has an api for 3rd party devs to have at, they will build ones that often are superior to the official ones. Instagram was always a big sticking point because it was completely locked down and we only have it now through hacked means.

The design is entirely subjective. Personally I think I like it better than the 920 although I’d prefer more color options. What I’m curious about is the call quality. Is it really that bad? I thought Nokia was one of the best in the matter and I can’t say it’s not for lack of CDMA experience since a bunch of people I know have 822s and it uses basically the same chipset. Are we sure this wasn’t an issue with the review unit because that just screams suspicious to me

Giz of all places actually decided to focus on the positives and published an article today detailing the more technical aspects of the system, which are pretty damn impressive if you ask me.
What people just seem to be failing to grasp is that everything shown yesterday were the tools Microsoft was giving the devs to work with and now it’s up to them to make use of them.
