There’s more to a design language than being flat or having gradients. Gmail and Maps for iOS clearly follow iOS guidelines.

What? The difference is that Google can push the updates for the services to users directly, where as previously the only way to get these improvements was through OS updates which the carriers held the keys.

But in practice, it wouldn’t actually be SMS… iMessage is completely data, no SMS is used. It would just serve as a hub, in one app… Send a message if the person has hangouts, send a text if they don’t. That’s all we want ;_;

No SMS = DOA

For me, at least. I’d rather use this, but I communicate with 90% of my friends using Facebook Messenger or SMS, and I’m not going to be able to get them to switch.
