Yup, that’s Amtrak for ya. Sometimes the conductors are cool but often times not.
Sometimes you can find comfier seats by walking up and down the train, usually you will find a newer car that is much quieter and comfortable. Most people don’t realize this and sit wherever they get on.
The problem with the speed is they don’t (at least where I ride, and I don’t think anywhere) have their own tracks. They use the tracks with permission from the freight train company that owns them, and obviously those are not built for high speed commutes. And the freight trains always have priority, so that hinders the service a bit more,
Amtrak is basically a government subsidized mess of a business.
I live in San Diego and see multiple Model S’s on a daily basis. Such a stunning car, truly believe Tesla is the future especially seeing as not a single other automaker has released a car that comes close to competing with a Model S at any price point.
