You would think that cell phones are the cure to cancer, feed your family etc by the way people automatically think that every invention needs to be applied to their phone first.

I propose an experiment, take 100 young hipsters, whose parents have not bought them an Android or iPhone and put them on a boat. Start that boat to sinking and tell the young hipsters that to port are piles of the latest smartphones, their choice, to starboard are lifeboats and life jackets, they can only choose one side.
