The machine was rather difficult to operate. For years radios had been operated by means of pressing buttons and turning dials; then as the technology became more sophisticated the controls were made touch-sensitive—you merely had to brush the panels with your fingers; now all you had to do was wave your hand in the general direction of the components and hope. It saved a lot of muscular expenditure, of course, but meant that you had to sit infuriatingly still if you wanted to keep listening to the same program.

Do we really need that much sensitivity?

FYI, people can just delete HTCLinkifyDispatcher in System/App to get the old functionality back. I hated not being able to open links in the apps designed for them. Like YouTube or Foursquare ALWAYS take you to the page, not to the apps.

I see there is also a smaller controller on the larger one. Is it recursive? Does each Arduino have a smaller Arduino on board?

I am apparently at 7 out of my 10 activations already for my 3 devices that use Google Music. I’ve only wiped my phone once, due to tech support reasons.

Anything I can do to fix the fact that I can’t click YouTube links and have them open in YouTube? Or any other apps that hook into HTTP links for that matter (eg, Play Store, Foursquare)

This is why I hope this becomes true. It goes Google the ability to actually update the Google Maps app and release it on their own.

Apparently iOS has a provision that allows an app to run in the background when connected to a hardware accessory.

Except that benefited the consumers. These books still have DRM. All we got here were higher prices.

I’ve dropped my iPhone 4 probably about 100 times and it survived fine. Hopefully my One X can take that kind of abuse!

No one complained about the 4s’s design because the 4 is still a damn nice looking phone. (I am still switching to a One X, though.)

And let’s not forget the pentile display, which has absolutely atrocious screen-door effect in The Verge’s hands-on gallery. Looks terrible, especially compared to the One X.
