So it’s just for the sign up? Well in that case, I’m Mr Fakey McFakerson!
Cheers!

This is good news that I was not previously aware of! Looks like another reason for me to consider getting one of the S3’s.

RebelFM? I thought I recognised his name. I used to listen to that all the time.
Was that the one with the guy who said “literally” before every statement, or the one with the guy who was against pretty much everything and appeared to hate fun?

Amazon would only do that if they hate money, which I’m sure they don’t.

While I detest DRM as a principle, I’m pretty happy with my Kindle. I can read my books on my Android tablet or my cellphone if I really wanted to with the same license. And if portability is an issue then a quick sync via Calibre will sort that out.
For now, I’ve no need to port it to different devices, if the need arises then it’s such a minor thing to format-shift the books that it’s barely more work than it would be from a completely drm-free format.
DRM does need to die though. Dead-tree media isn’t DRM’d last I checked and it’s been around for a while now, of course, it’s a bit tricky to download a paperback.

The best Tony Hawk game of them all, even if it is riddled with minor issues.
I don’t even want to know how many hours I’ve spent playing it on various platforms.

More changed relative to what?
The prior tablets looked nigh identical (flat rectangles) other than Apple adding their propietary dock interface.
And what revolutionary difference was there betwen an iPad and an iPhone other than the size?
A tablet, by definition, is a flattish, generally rectangular “thing” (Prior art: The Bible). Electronic tablets existed before the iPad (Such as this Knight Ridder) as well as smaller similar devices. From a functionality standpoint, the (original) iPad has very little difference to the iPhone/iPod Touch of the same time.
It’s minor cosmetic differences, semantics and different UI’s.
Is an iPod touch not just a really small tablet? Is there a defined size where a flattish, rectangularish device changes from being a “phone” or “mp3 player” into a “tablet”?
I can understand Apple wanting to protect their IP, but there’s just so many holes in the arguments that they’re getting away with because of the “law” winning over common sense.

Sorry, it supports DRM free via Calibre, or it supports the .MOBI format which can but does not need to have embedded DRM.
The Nook however, has native DRM-free ePub support.

Of course, the person(s) who got the bit with the “4” on it would’ve been able to work the rest out themselves.

See: Retina display argument.
In reality, it depends on the size of the image. If you have a 5-inch square picture, then 5 megapixels is heaps, if you have a 5-foot square image, then you’ll be wanting at least twice that if you don’t like being able to see pixels.

A good example of a virtually DOA “standard”. (Unless you are an Apple user).

It’s a 4-contact connector, not 3-contact that pretty much every car stereo with an Aux input uses.
And Apple products aren’t usually a good example of a function given how non-standard their interfaces usually are. (e.g. Back-to-front TRRS video pinouts)
