How is that a strawman argument? We’re talking about software in a game console. The most important software is how the game developers speak with the OS. That’s the SDK. If the SDK and the developer tools are great, then you will have better games and happier devs.

How is the One more future proof then the PS4? And what are you talking about with the UI design?

You heard. I hear the XB1 is going to be a more futuristic device than the PS4. Why not trust that as well?

Jonathon Blow said on Giant Bomb this week that everybody he talked to really likes the PS4 SDK and that the One was having some trouble. The indie developers were surprised how easy it was to port their games over and have a running build quickly. Those you can easily look up. I’ve read about other devs having an easy time on the Vita but I don’t have any links for that.

Because there has to be a catch. It makes no sense to have such strict limitations on one end and then on the other, you can share every One game with any 10 people.

Why is Microsoft’s vision of a console that caters to all gamers, casual and core, so upsetting to “core” gamers?

Because core gamers are the ones spending an extra $100 on something they don’t want while the casuals won’t buy a $500 console.
