BlackBerry 10, Sailfish OS, and Ubuntu Touch are all based on the Qt software framework. With Qt 5.1 there is even support for Android and iOS.
Developing for all these platforms from a single code base is easy.

The platform is standard Linux. Aside from the home-grown launcher, it’s just plain Linux and that won’t die anytime soon.

Why do you feel the need to state your personal preference to anyone in the first place, especially if you refuse to explain the reason when asked?
This is the comments section. This is the place for stating personal preferences without any requirement to explain anything.

The whole point is the base OS they’re using which is not Android. Just another Android vendor has no choice and even successful companies can fall very deep in short time (see HTC).

You should learn that no all map data has the same quality throughout the world. Before Google bought additional datasets from the German government, Google’s Germany data was just crap compared to OSM (eg. in Google Maps a park had most paths missing and instead put an imaginary lake right in the middle). Even after Google got the more improved data, OSM is still better – at least the false lake is now gone: http://tools.geofabrik.de/mc/?mt0=mapnik&mt1=googlemap&lon=6.80592&lat=51.20264&zoom=16
