Because sometime down the road retailers won’t give discounts for the Samsung TVs and customers will only buy the brand that has the price as the old Samsung TVs rather than paying x% more for an undiscounted customer. Samsung also spun-off it’s tv divison (or is it the display panel division) and the TV market has lower margins anyway.
I’m not saying it’s good or bad, it’s just the way it is.

Because Apple was the first company to use that tech. Didn’t a trail-blazing company get sued out of existence and then got bought by the industry because of this?

Considering that even Nokia is saving, thus far, the high end hardware for some (Symbian) Belle phones i don’t know what to make of this story.

I’m not sure if you’re trying to be sarcastic or something, but from a hacker point of view, that OS or Maemo of Ubuntu for Andoid would be easier to use as a general purpose computer, if need for it arises. It is also easier to patch vulnerabilities if they appear after support for the phone has long been discontinued. So it’s a good phone do send out in space for a long time (like hundreds of years), barring the battery.

THat concept image doesn’t look right. The N9/Lumia 900 edge doesn’t look right. it should be the same as on the phone, meaning portrait mode. Maybe have the buttons moved to make sense on a landscape tablet, but it should basically have the same shape as the phone.
