Wait what?! HTC Deserves to fail because they aren’t as big a company as Samsung?! I mean, that’s basically what you just said. You point out they’re not pushing in developing countries, they don’t have their own store fronts, they don’t make consumer goods like TV’s and Appliances, they don’t have chip fabrication foundries, don’t manufacture LCD screens, etc. So because they don’t have the capital from all these other industries, they can’t flood the market with a range of low-end to high-end devices or market the crap out of their devices with a multimillion dollar advertising budget, they deserve to fail?! Ignorance and useless strategies? Okay, partnering up with Facebook on the Mambo and the First, i’ll agree. But deserve to fail?

Sorry, but No. The dual stereo speakers are enough, anything less isn’t.

You’re not missing anything…the goal was to make it Hangouts like a mix of SMS and Messenger. When you text someone on SMS you don’t know if they are actively looking at their phone or not. Google expects it’s users to stay logged into Hangouts to get notifications, so you can reply back like getting texted. I agree with you that I don’t like it when I can’t see if my contacts are busy or away either. If you confirm your number or Google Voice account, that huge list will turn into your phone contacts first.

As an owner of both devices, go for the HTC One. No Android phone has ever been as well built in regards to premium and solidness. The N4 is nice, don’t get me wrong, but it’s a faux premium device…the soft rubbery plastic sides can creak at the top and bottom since it’s just held by soft plastic clips, the thin glass back on top of thin plastic feels kinda cheap. The only thing the N4 has over the One is stock Android out of the box and that’s only if you really really want stock. Lets face it, most people that buy a Nexus device will jump stock Android and put some AOSP based ROM like CM10.1 or AOKP on it. With the One, you can unlock the bootloader right now and do the same thing. You won’t get updates immediately, but wait a few weeks or days when Google releases the AOSP update and you’ll be running the newest version of Android from some custom ROM. With the update to how Google Play Services works, Google will keep most devices up to date without going through a system revision. Seriously, coming from the GNex and N4, I figured I would miss AOSP, but with Sense5, I seriously don’t miss it at all.

I can see how that is useful if you’re logged on your computer and away and not logged into the actual Hangouts app on your phone. What matters is, if you reply to that SMS in Google Voice, will the original sender receive the Hangout message as a Hangout message?

Funny how the peace loving Israeli government is one of the largest if not the largest violator of Human Rights in the world. Let me leave this UN link right here.

This video was originally released when they announced the One. It’s just been re-editted and re-released. Just because the guy is white, balding, and is not cleanly shaved, it makes him an Ive clone? I don’t see how it’s like Apple’s videos at all…now if the designers were talking with an empty white background behind them, okay. At least these guys in the video aren’t dressed liked hipsters at an art gallery talking about how their designs were so different from their last device…ahem, Samsung.
