Not sure if they have it but they probably need a full time community manager at this point.

I’d love to see a walkthrough of the floor maybe some off the cuff interviews to see what is out there. And previews of games coming out, not just the blockbuster type stuff but the interesting looking things.

We don’t know this is going to be for Android though, I can see it be more along the lines of Chrome OS.

HP is definitely making some serious missteps, this reinforces it. They are trying to get on the cloud bandwagon now, but their offerings are meh or kind of miss the point of the cloud.

That isn’t where HP messed up. Apotheker effectively killed it before it came out, gave it 90 days to fail and pulled it. He wanted HP to be like IBM.

Which is probably a reason they are jumping over to Google.

Anyone wanting to do that needs to pay apple to do it normally. Not surprised they went after the app.

I’d say Windows 8 and WP7 show they are actually trying to compete.

Well in this case they are violating copyright which has legal ramifications. It’s not like what has happened in some European countries where they are asking to remove things like Nazi sites or the like. The latter is very much suppression of free speech, the former is about civil law.

Interesting I’ve never had it attempt to connect to a device after I configure it to not attempt to do so.

That doesn’t really state anything. Gruber could actually own the show and just have Dan as a host/tech guy. Also the show predates 5by5. If you look at some other shows it is clear that 5by5 never owned them but they were hosted on the network.

You can do that sort of if you don’t share a computer. It would be hard for one app to have common library because of licensing issues with the music. It’s about the labels I imagine.

I like iTunes, on the mac it is not a bad app at all. My favorite bit is the mini-controller though.

This kind of lawsuit ended up killing ReplayTV. Too bad the court case about being able to shift past never made it to to trial.

Interesting read for sure. I find the various porn sites in there amusing as hell. But Ms being up there isn’t a surprise considering the amount of pirating of their software that has occurred.
It’s good to know the stats but it should not be used to single people out. IF someone is posting your stuff in violation it’s fair to ask for it to be taken down.

Yes. I was in the audience. The answer was not met all that well, people were polite as was Guy but the general vibe was people were calling BS and Vic just kept going. It was a great talk partly because while there was a lot of cheerleading the audience and even Guy were not fanboying it up.
I like g+ for some things, I just don’t think it’s purpose is like Facebook is.

Apple needs to actually care enough to do it. And unless they can somehow prove that doing it will drive hardware sales I can’t see them bothering.

orkut was an inhouse side project, part of that 20% thing. Was fun until the influx of brazilians basically took it over and crowded everyone out. Their attempts to let people manage it were buggy and failed which is what killed it. G+ has fixed that problem mostly.

Might want to check your facts there.
iOS has had voice commands to vary levels since the original iPhone. It is actually powered by Nuance.
Samsung does not own Vlingo and never has. They partnered with them in 2011. Apple purchased Siri in 2010. Nuance currently owns Vlingo, as of 2011. The only similarity with Siri and notification center is they both use linen.

It is a shame Amalur was a fun game and had some promise. If it was Schilling using this as his own personal ATM I hope they go after him hard. It is suprising since last I heard Amalur did well.

You need to look into what the actual updates for OS X entail. They are much more than service packs in scope.

It would be hard for them. Remember Apple sells hardware and uses the software as a value add. MS sells software so they can’t subsidize the OS costs like Apple does with hardware sales.

If you mean the AllThingsD thing that isn’t what he said exactly. He said the prices would be the same between Amazon and iBooks this was during the iPad launch. Does not prove any such thing.
