Good job using a pre-beta shot of Sc2.
I really trust your opinion now.

Both of these games have unquestionably the best graphics of their genre, but okay.

I specifically mean top-down action RPG’s because that’s a pretty important distinction.

If they differentiate annual pass users with regular purchases I’m sure the same can be said for free trials.

You’re missing the point. Design is about making compromises. You can claim an aluminum backing would break less, but it does come with an aesthetic trade off, and aesthetics are important to Apple and its consumers. If design was just about making an indestructible phone we’d all be carrying plastic iPhones.

Here’s the problem: aluminum shells scratch very easily. Glass does not. You can avoid having your phone break by not dropping it. You can’t avoid getting scratches on an aluminum back unless you keep the thing in a case 24/7.

Maybe not, but that doesn’t stop it from being a blight of bad press for Microsoft to this very day.

We’re talking about two different things. Web pages like The Verge have “white space” on the left and right for a reason. It’s not arbitrary.

You’re right that listening to the shows on the 5by5 network is like listening to fox news and hearing what you want to hear, but I think Dan does make some effort to ask the right questions and spur a discussion. I believe Dan actually agrees with a lot of the things Gruber says, but on issues like Google Drive he will pipe in and try to look at the discussion from a google user’s perspective. He may not be perfect but I think he is a really great host.
I wish there was a big-name Apple blogger more like Dan because I feel like Gruber has set a bad precedent. Now we have all these bloggers like Dalrymple and Siegler who try to mimic Gruber’s formula and really just come off as douchebags.

I always get the impression that people who believe touch will make the mouse obsolete have never used and appreciated a decent mouse before. They’ve used the junky stuff that comes with whatever OEM’s machine they bought, or some cheap $20 junk from Microsoft.
Just a few days ago I went to the Apple store to get my iPhone fixed and I played with some of the magic trackpads. Don’t get me wrong, gestures are really cool, but even Apple’s trackpad doesn’t come anywhere close to the speed and precision of my razer naga. Putting aside that the naga is a gaming mouse, I don’t think I would ever trade the ease/fluidity of moving the cursor for gestures. To me that’s the most important part of a point and click input, even in the most basic of tasks.
