You don’t play a spec sheet. Look at the iPhone as an example of “lower specs” yet still it seems to run just fine in comparison to the Android and Windows Phones and Blackberries.
Hardware gets you the potential, but software is where you can realize that potential…or not.
We have NO idea how things will play out.
As they say, arguing on the Internet is just like competing in the Special Olympics.

But I wonder if the devs will go with the “lowest common denominator” and run with the XboxOne. I would assume that exploiting the lower level APIs require more time and effort to work with, whereas the DX11.x being higher level could be quite a bit more efficient in terms of development time.

My original 360 is still working nicely. It’s the 2ndary machine though, as apparently HDMI hadn’t been invented at the time the original 360 came out.

The possibilities for continuous recording devices reminds me of these books I once read:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Neanderthal_Parallax
From Wikipedia:
“comprehensive recording and transmission devices, mounted in the forearm of each person. Their entire life is constantly monitored and sent to their alibi archive, a repository of recordings that are only accessible by their owner, or by the proper authorities when investigating an infraction, and in the latter case only in circumstances relevant to the investigation. Recordings are maintained after death; it is not made clear what the reasoning is for this and under what circumstances and or by whom a deceased person’s archive can be accessed.”

The thing is, they aren’t taking steps. They’re asking broad questions and nothing more.

They need to be seen as doing something I think. Asking questions is the least they can do, really, and it more or less gets Google to do the rest of the work for them. Google glass is basically just a smartphone with an interesting, wearable design.
