Maybe it’s just the photos, but the viewing angles on that screen look awful (unlike the Incredible 2).

Amazon had never done software before, either, and now they have 54% of the Android tablet marketshare, even though they aren’t marketing the Fire as an Android tablet. I think Samsung can do it too.

I do understand and agree with what you’re saying from a business standpoint. However, I do think that the iPhone 4/4S has a great design and it is still attractive fairly universally. I’m not saying that Samsung has to do something crazy, but I don’t think they should sink to the lowest common denominator in order to make a device that is unoffensive towards all.

I think that aesthetically, the Galaxy SIII is pleasing in its simplicity and clean design. As someone who owns a couple Motorola Android phones, I can definitely appreciate Samsung’s design. However, as someone who loves studying industrial design, it’s simply lacking in creativity or originality. So, while I value the clean design, I do wish that Samsung would take some artistic license, especially because, as you say, for many, this will be the next Android device that people will buy. And I think that almost gives Samsung a responsibility to come up with a great design.

Looks nice, but Sammy needs to get out of this bland design rut.

Having games being exclusive to a certain chipset is one thing, and has legitimate cause. Having an application be exclusive to one handset isn’t.

Having apps be exclusive to one piece of hardware? Not yet. There are legitimate hardware limitations, but this isn’t one of them, unless Flipboard on Android requires a quad-core processor.
