Google ain’t the only hypocrite in the room. Apple promised the FaceTime protocol would be made publically available years ago. We’re still waiting. Microsoft went to XMPP with MSN, then backtracked. On the other hand, they went from H.264 to VP8 with Skype. So that’s neither here nor there.
I don’t understand why Android supporters are so desperate to have Nokia making Android devices. You have Sony, LG, Motorola all exclusively making Android phones. Samsung is putting 99% of its efforts behind Android. HTC supports Android & WP equally. Why not let one company, Nokia, be exclusive to WP? If you really love the hardware so much, support Nokia by buying into the WP ecosystem. Your argument is that you’re willing to buy not so great hardware to use Android. It should apply the other way round as well.
