I was using the drone as an example of the level of technology your military has deployed in your cities. With this level of technology it seems very peculiar that a method to take down a target – using a long range taser has not been developed. If you have the shot to shoot a hit a target in the chest and head then surely you have the same shot with an advanced taser stun device.
To be honest I’m only thinking in terms of being able to get intelligence from the target about cells, terrorist networks, motivations for explosions etc but if you’d rather get quick vengeance then by all means shoot to kill just expect more attacks.
We discovered here in the UK with the IRA that simply killing the perpetrators of the attacks only causes more.
In a country where you have drones flying over your heads I find it baffling that the USA doesn’t have a military unit capable of taking a target like this down without killing. If not from a moral point of view – simply to gain intelligence? Tear gas, taser, gods sake – you can down an elephant with a tranqiliser gun why not a man? If you can shot a man in the chest – shoot him with a tranq – I may be oversimplifying but SURELY it must be possible?
Then again I’m in the UK – what would I know – we ban guns and guess what – little to no gun crime.
