this is only true if you randomly select 1 of the 2 possible answers (and do this for a loooong period of time but we won’t get in to details) . If there are more than 2 possibilities you won’t get it right 50% of the time

SGS 3 has a lot of nifty little features so if they would present them properly , together with all the major changes and tech. specs, this phone wouldn’t get so much negative press because of the pen-tile screen (which is still superb) and the plastic body (it should’ve been made of unobtainium or at least adamantium)

Don’t foget the bezel – the thinner the bezel, the larger the screen on the same phone size.

These are rhetorical questions, aren’t they? It’s like asking people if they would like a car that is small and easy maneuverable in cities but can be expanded for long journeys for the entire fammily.
Of course everyone wants such a device..
How does this transformation occur anyway? Do you fold the phone? Do you scroll out a flexible screen? Magic?

Of course, Pentile displays have been less of an issue in higher resolution devices like the Galaxy Note, but for pixel enthusiasts the Galaxy S III’s display may still end up being a disappointment.
HA-Ha-ha-.. So pentile display is practically no issue on the Galaxy Note, with~270 PPI but it’s a disappointment on the SGS 3 with ~290 PPI?

ok, I agree that Samsung could’ve used S-LCD2 or S-AMOLED+, in other words – the best technology possible, with their top tier phone but I don’t think that the selected display is so bad that it deserves so much negative rep.
In my opinion the lack of microSD slot and a non-removable battery on HTC ONE X is a worse thing than this. As someone in the comments already mentioned 16GB can be used really quickly and about the battery – what if the phone freezes? You can’t restart it with buttons, you can’t remove the battery (this things do happen). You simply have to wait until the battery is depleted.
This didn’t recieve any bad rep. but people still obsess the SAMOLED of the SGS3

But is the 720p Super AMOLED display on the SGS3 really that bad to use/look at? Can you see those extra green pixels with your bare eyes, is it displaying white with a blue-ish cast, or is there any collor shift when you tilt the phone?
I have the original SGS with an S-AMOLED display with a lower resolution and I don’t see any of these problems so I really can’t imagine that the screen on the SGS3 could be that bad.

I was just writing a similar reply but you were faster :)
just to add a few things
- about the screen – if you compare a pentile 4,8" HD screen to a non-pentile under a microscope or picture them with a macro lens and enlarge the picture you’ll see the difference but look at both screens with naked eyes, they are both great. Each has is pluses and minuses but both are great.
- the processors on one X or 4(S) are more than enough capable to power today’s apps/games, I just replied on moroboshi’s stupid comment about using an “ancient outdated GPU”
- those things are not design per se but they influence the design and become a part of it… if you have a 4,8" display you can’t put it on an iPhone for instance without changing it’s size and with that it’s design. Couple of years ago you couldn’t fit the phone internals into a 8,5mm body so you had to design a fatter phone.
- I have nothing to add about the launcher, you’ve said it all Dan77.

- Look at the screen and use the phone IRL before criticizing it
- show me a game/app/video/… that doesn’t run smoothly with this CPU/GPU configuration
- thin bezel, nice colours, big nice screen,…. != bland design
- you can install an alternative launcher without even rooting the phone

Rational person: but it looks just the same as the previous model
Fanboys: but look at the new features!!!!!!
Rational person: you mean voice commands? The gimmicky feature? After all, has anyone actually used it after the first week of asking it “where can I hide a body”?
Fanboys: but its innovation!!!!
Rational person: sure it is, like video chat was… back in 2006 when you could do it on most nokias over egprs (2.5G)

I have one problem with the pulsing mode.. .
Designed to promote freewriting, the Pulsing view obscures what you’re writing, only informing you that you’re still inputting text into the app with some sort of pulsing animation.
I practicaly never look at the keyboard when I type, unless I have to enter a weird symbol that is rarely used (ยค for example). I just watch the screen as the keys/letters that I press apear and form words. It would drive me bonkers if the only thing I would see would be this pulsing animation, together with some bars that show the amount of text I wrote and the momentum or speed of my typing.
My suggestion would be that instead of this pulsing animation the app would show the actuall word you are typing and at the moment you press space (or enter) the word would dissapear.
Or maybe it could show the last 2-3 words that you’ve written, together with the one you are typing at the moment and this would then be a fifth mode, placed between typing and pulsing with a medium-high momentum level (or typing could have low momentum, this mode – medium and pulsing – high).
