So another story about an unconfirmed product NOT launching on the previously unconfirmed schedule. It’s amazing what we accept as journalism these days.
It seems wrong to report on the stalling of talks that have never been confirmed outside of the tech media. I could say that I have a source that says the Apple TV is coming in June and then a month later say that “talks” have stymied the launch of the product. At no point has anyone had to show any evidence that the product or the talks ever existed or occurred.
Because likely those services’ deals with the labels likely have a clause that lets them out in the event of acquisition. It’s a common practice. I believe that exact same thing happened when Apple acquired Lala.
